Despite being a voluntary policy for all senior officials, the president has now made it mandatory for himself and his deputy to cut 80% off their salaries, with the rest going to Kenya’s efforts to fight Covid-19.

Cabinet secretaries and Chief Administrative Secretaries will each forego 30 % of their earnings, while Permanent Secretaries will get a 20 % pay cut.

The president’s stimulus package and policies are expected to pump in 243 Billion to save Kenya’s economy from the effects of measures to keep the Coronavirus pandemic at bay.
