Uhuru Kenyatta Back On Twitter

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has returned to social media after a three-year hiatus.

The former head of state’s Twitter handle is @4thPresidentKE and his user name is ‘Office of the 3rd Retired President of Kenya.’

His twitter account has 6,048 followers and follows two people: Burundi’s President Evariste Ndayishimiye and the East African Community.

The account, which made its first post on Monday, November 28th, does not allow public interactions because the comments section is disabled, allowing only those who are tagged to comment.

When he returned, the first post he made was about him opening the Third Inter-Congolese Dialogue, which was held at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

“These consultations are a follow-up to the Inaugural Inter-Congolese Peace Consultation (Nairobi I) that was held in April 2022; the 2nd Inter-Congolese Peace Consultations, a scoping and mapping mission in Ituri, North Kivu & South Kivu which took place in May 2022 in the DRC.

This culminated in the 22nd Ordinary Summit of the East African Community Heads of State and Government, which appointed H.E. (Rtd) President Uhuru Kenyatta as the EAC Facilitator of the Nairobi Peace Process.

The meeting aims at accelerating the ongoing regional efforts to attain sustainable peace and security in Eastern DRC,” read part of the post.

Uhuru left social media on March 22, 2019, after being the most followed African leader on Twitter with 3.62 million followers.

Uhuru suspended his Twitter account first, then his Facebook account.

He stated that he had left Twitter due to the constant insults and name-calling that flooded his timeline.
