Uhuru Park To Be Opened Soon — Governor Sakaja

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja told citizens on Saturday that Uhuru Park would be open by the end of March 2024.

Sakaja was forced to respond following a public outcry over the park’s lengthy closure in the heart of the capital.

He stated that his administration was addressing logistics to guarantee that Kenyans could access the facility by the agreed time.

When asked if Kenyans will pay to enter the rebuilt park, he said, “It will be free to use.”

“Central Park is taking longer. “Contracted works have yet to be completed,” he noted.

Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) closed Uhuru Park to the public in 2022 for restoration.
