President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy President William Ruto and ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga are expected to attend the National Prayer Breakfast in Nairobi today, Thursday, May 26, 2022.

The Kenyan Parliament will host the 19th edition of the National Prayer Breakfast at the Safari Park Hotel.

The theme of this year’s prayer breakfast is ‘transition’ which comes just 74 days before the country goes for a General Election that will see Kenyans elect their fifth president.

Dan Maazo, the event’s co-chairman, said all leaders, including the Chief Justice, had been invited and it was up to them to decide whether or not to attend.

“We have invited everyone, the Deputy President, Mr. Odinga and even the Chief Justice. It is now upon them to choose to attend or not. It is only Kalonzo that we know is not in the country and therefore will not attend but the rest we expect at Safari Park,” Mr. Maanzo said.

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual ecumenical event hosted by the Co-Patrons, the Speakers of the Senate and the National Assembly, and organized by a group of committed volunteers who make up the National Prayer Breakfast Organizing Committee.

The purpose of the National Prayer Breakfast is to meet, engage, interact and together pray for the nation in the company of fellow leaders from all sectors of society.
