Uhuru To Preside Over Final Jamuhuri Day

On Sunday, President Uhuru Kenyatta will host his final Jamhuri Day celebrations at the Uhuru Gardens.

President Kenyatta’s term expires on August 9th when Kenya will go to its 5th general election.

The event will be held in full accordance with the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 guidelines, and invited attendees should arrive by 8 a.m. to be seated.

During this year’s events, only 11,000 invited visitors will be admitted inside Uhuru Gardens.

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho informed the public on Saturday that the event at Uhuru Gardens was ready to go.

Interior PS Kibicho, who also chairs the National Celebrations Committee, said 10,000 people will be on the public grounds and 1000 in the dais at the site, which has undergone extensive repairs, during an inspection tour earlier this week.

Despite the fact that the number of participants will be more than three times those who attended Mashujaa Day in Wanguru Stadium in Kirinyaga County last month, he believes the event will be a success.
