Uhuru’s Ramadhan message: we must make sacrifices to see the bright days beyond our current situation

President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged all Muslims to observe measures put in place to combat Coronavirus diseases even as the Holy Month of Ramadhan commences -By Prudence Wanza

The President said there is a need to change our normal behavior if we want to win the war against Coronavirus urging Kenyans to join all the Muslims in prayer and fasting for the country during these difficult times. 

“The Holy Month of Ramadan is an important period of reflection, fasting, and prayer for ourselves, our loved ones, and our nation by our Muslim brothers and sisters. In solidarity with them, I urge all Kenyans of various faiths and denominations to join in reflection and prayer for our beloved nation during these challenging times.” President Kenyatta said

He has further called upon the Muslims to follow guidelines by the Ministry of Health such as avoiding large gatherings, regularly washing hands with soap and water, and maintaining social distance.

The President has also assured all Kenyans that the Pandemic will come to an end and that better days lie ahead for the nation.

Uhuru thanked all the doctors and health workers who in the frontline giving services relentlessly.

“I thank all our doctors, nurses, clinical officers, researchers, emergency teams, and indeed, all our frontline personnel for their selfless service in combating the Coronavirus pandemic.”
