Unbowed OKA Signs Coalition

One Kenya Alliance (OKA) Principals have officially signed a coalition agreement that will see their respective parties forge a strong unity ahead of the upcoming August General Election.

The leaders included Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper Party, Martha Karua (NARC-Kenya), Gideon Moi (KANU) and Cyrus Jirongo (NDP).

The Farmer’s party led by Irungu Nyakera and the Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) party led by Ugenya MP David Ochieng also joined the One Kenya Alliance in signing of the agreement on Friday.

Speaking during the signing of the agreement, OKA principals said they were all set to partner with like-minded political formations, insisting that any further partnerships would be done in a transparent and open manner.

Martha Karua stated that the alliance was prepared to select its own candidate and run alone in the August elections.

“We will grow from strength to strength, and OKA will demand transparency from other coalition partners… We shall put up with obscurity. We are not going to be second fiddles. We enter as equals and converse as equals.”

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka mirrored Karua’s thoughts, describing OKA as a formidable force.

“We are going to have to build one Juggernaut. We discussed the potential of forming a grand coalition, but we already have our alliance in place. If others are unwilling to participate. We’re all set to go down to the wire. “We’ve got the instruments, but we’re ready to talk,” Kalonzo remarked.
