A university student was stabbed to death during a brawl at a colleague’s party in Kabete, Nairobi.
Ian Kimutai, 19, a first-year student at the University of Nairobi in Kabete campus was stabbed and died at the hospital.
On Saturday, he left his apartment and informed his colleagues that he was going to a party hosted by a fellow student.
It is believed he was attacked and stabbed in the chest at the event following a fight among the invitees.
Police said they were looking for the suspects to question and possibly prosecute.
According to the apartment guards, Ian was brought and abandoned at the gate late at night. It’s unclear who left him there, soaked in blood.
An hour later, he was discovered and rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
As part of the investigation, police have taken statements from a number of students who were present at the party.
