Two families in the upmarket Varsityville estate along the Nairobi Eastern Bypass are locked in a serious dispute over four puppies.
The owner of a male dog has reportedly been bullish over the ‘paternity’ of four Japanese Maltese puppies, which he claims were fathered by his pet.
He is now demanding half of the litter.
But the owner of the female Japanese Maltese, a medical doctor, has refused to budge, insisting a stray dog strayed into his compound and ‘molested’ the female Maltese.
“Let him provide evidence that his bully dog fathered these four beautiful Japanese Maltese. My friend will get nothing here,” he said.
The doctor, who requested anonymity, revealed that an arbiter has been invited to help resolve the dispute.
“Alternatively, our good neighbor may have half of these beautiful pets at a cost of Sh50,000. For the work i have done in taking care of their medicals and homing. Nothing less,” he added.
The doctor further claimed his children are reluctant to let go of the puppies and has given his neighbor 14 days to either pay up or drop any claims.
