Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) investigators on Thursday morning raided Governor Anne Waiguru’s homes in Nairobi and Kirinyaga county – By Gerald Gekara.
The investigators presented court warrants permitting them to hold onto reports that are critical to examinations of abuse of office charges.
The EACC criminologists were in search for proof of a Ksh 10 million payment to the Governor for trips that purportedly didn’t happen.
This comes a month after Kirinyaga MCAs voted to impeach Waiguru, but their efforts bore little fruit when the Senate Special Committee threw out the motion.
However, certain recommendations were orchestrated, in order to probe Waiguru’s office.
Kirinyaga MCAs said that their fight to expel Governor Waiguru was not yet finished, and they would then revisit the impeachment motion.
