Machakos Governor-aspirant Nzioka Waita has accused some financial institutions of impoverishing Kamba women.
Waita, the Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) Governor candidate for Machakos said poor women have lost donkeys, sofasets, and even iron sheets.
Yet, these institutions knew that Covid-19 vagaries had affected the poor women. But went ahead to auction them.
He said he will ensure that County funds percolate to the rural areas to ensure to save the women from the jaws of rogue banks.
“These shameless banks have impoverished our people. We must now deal with them” he said.
Nzioka Waita assured women of programs aimed at uplifting their livelihood when he assumes office.
