The Machakos County Government has distributed Sh48 million worth of drugs and non-pharmaceutical products to public health facilities across the county.

Wavinya stated that the supplies were part of her campaign promises to residents before she was elected on August 9, 2022.
“Two weeks ago, we embarked on a journey towards equipping our hospitals with medical supplies. Today, I flagged off the second lot of medical supplies from KEMSA worth 48 Million to all health facilities in Machakos County; Hospitals, Health Centers and dispensaries. I promise to follow up and ensure that all this gets to each and every public facility within Machakos,” she said.
Wavinya also stated that her administration had installed a bulk liquid oxygen tank at Kangundo Level 4 hospital to aid in the decongestion of Machakos Level 5 hospital.
“We have also installed a bulk liquid oxygen tank at Kangundo Hospital to equip the new ICU in an effort to decongest Machakos Level 5,” she added.
Wavinya also said that she will ensure that all hospitals will be supplied quarterly to ensure the availability and accessibility of medicines and medical supplies.
She also urged all the managers in charge of the supplies to be accountable for receiving, utilization, security and reporting.
