Weatherman: Heavy Rainfall Expected Over The Weekend

According to the Kenya Meteorological Department, the present rains across the country will accelerate beginning Thursday, November 2, 2023.

According to a weather forecast issued Wednesday evening, severe rainfall of more than 30mm in 24 hours is expected to persist between Friday the 3rd and Sunday the 5th.

Rain is predicted to stop on Monday, November 6th.

Nairobi, Mombasa, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo, Samburu, Turkana, Embu, Nyeri, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Murang’a, Meru, Kirinyaga, Tharaka Nithi, Busia, Kisii, and Nyamira are among the counties expected to suffer severe rain.

Also likely to encounter the severe downpour is Kericho, Bomet, Nakuru, Narok, Migori, Trans Nzoia, Nandi, West Pokot, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Vihiga, Bungoma, Homa Bay, Kisumu, Siaya, Kakamega, Kajiado, Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Lamu, Tana-River, Taita Taveta, Kwale, and Kilifi counties.

Residents in all of the aforementioned places have been warned to be on the alert for potential floods, according to the weatherman.
