National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has asked the opposition to refrain from making new claims that the presidential election on August 9, 2022, was rigged.
Wetang’ula stated that Kenyans are preoccupied with economic issues other than last year’s elections.
“I am asking those who are resurrecting the claims they won to proceed with caution,” the National Assembly Speaker said.
He stated that leaders who claim Azimio leader Raila Odinga defeated President William Ruto should give the government room to serve Kenyans.
“We want to move forward and face the challenges of the day. “We need to address the food and water shortages, as well as increase farmer productivity,” he said.
Wetang’ula urged clergy to pray for the country and make contributions to improve Kenyans’ well-being.
“Please keep praying for the country. We did not fight after the elections, and those who were dissatisfied went to court, where the matter was resolved,” he explained.
He spoke in Trans Nzoia at Bishop Henry Juma Odonya of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale’s episcopal ordination.
