Wife to late Naivas chairman Simon Gashwe to be buried on Thursday

BY FAITH MUTETE – Monica Gashwe, the wife of former chairman of Naivas supermarkets Simon Gashwe Mukuha who was pronounced dead on Monday, will be buried at Langata Cemetary.

Monica succumbed after a long battle with cancer, according to Naivas Managing Director, David Kimani who spoke to the Nation in a phone interview.

“Ms Wanjiru, who was the wife to my late brother Simon Gashwe, passed away yesterday at Aga Khan Hospital where she had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit where she had been battling cancer,” said Mr Kimani.

The late Monica died barely three weeks after the burial of his husband. Simon Gashwe succumbed to a heart attack that struck her while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

They both leave behind four children; Charles Mukuha, Joseph Ngugi, Mercy Waithira and Robert Kago.
