Ngungi gave the chronological order of events on the night Kimani met his death
At around 5:53am a car registration number KBX 126 C believed to have been the same car used by Willie Kimani on June 23 was seen on surveillance camera passing along the forest road. At 5:57 am it was seen at Museum Hill heading towards the Westland area.
At 6:28 am the car was located at Langata Road, two occupants believed to be Willy and Muiruri are captured in several images at Multimedia University heading toward Rongai and at Mombasa Road heading toward Mlolongo area.
On June 23,2016 at around midday Kimani left Mavoko Law Courts alongside his client Mwendwa and a Taxi driver.
Surprisingly at 12;27pm the time the three men were said to have left Movoko Law courts, the vehicle in a different image was captured coming from Mlolongo area heading towards Cabanas but this time it had one light-skinned occupant in the driver’s seat. This particular image is believed to be Peter Ngugi alias Brown.
This is believed to be a few minutes after the three were abducted.
Forensic investigators proposed tracking of nine phone radios used within Mlolongo on June 23, 2016.
Investigations confirmed that one of the nine radios whose digits are 53903304 moved to different locations on the same day.
A quick preview of the radio proved that it was at Syokimau Police Post between 12:20pm and 12:40pm. This is the time the prosecution believes Willie and the other two abductees were held at the AP Post after being Kidnapped outside Mavoko Law Courts.
The radio was later traced to Mlolongo Police Station at 15:20hours to 15:40hours and later at Syokimau Police Station at 18:40hours to 19:00hours
Some minutes to 7pm on the same day,Kimani managed to contact his wife through a borrowed phone.
This attempt of the Lawyer prompts the Police officers to transfer the abductees to a bush awaiting execution.
The said gadget is believed to have moved to an isolated field at Soweto area which is believed to be the killing side.
The frequency was traced at the field between 19:40hours and 20:00hours on the material night.
At around 10pm Mwendwa who was the main target was executed. He was struggled to death using a rope and a nylon paper.
With a sequence of one hour, at 11pm, the second abductee who was the Tax driver was taken to a different corner from Mwendwa’s execution spot and murdered in a similar manner.
Willie Kimani the Lawyer was executed almost immediately after the Tax driver and put in a sack. He too was struggled with a rope and a nylon paper.
At around 2:00am, the police officers put the three bodies in car boot and drove towards Ndonyu Sabuk River for disposal.
After disposing the bodies, the Convicts converged at an Asian Restaurant in Mlolongo at around 4:00AM where they held a celebration party for a “JOB” well done.
The prosecution’s case is that the radio captured in all the locations was with Senior Sergeant Leliman, one of the three police officers convicted of gruesomely executing Lawyer Willie Kimani together with his client and a Taxi driver.
On July 1, 2016, the decomposing body of Willie Kimani together with that of Mwendwa and the Taxi driver was discovered and retrieved from Ndonyu Sabuk River in Machakos County.
On July 4, 2016, Kenyan Human Rights Defenders launched a Countrywide street protest calling for Justice in the case of Lawyer Kimani.
Approximately 300 Advocates of the High Court of Kenya protested in Nairobi.
This activated the government to act with speed to conclude investigations and bring the responsible culprits to book.
On July 18, 2016 four police officers were arrested and charged with the murder of the three abductees.
History confirms that the only reason Willie Kimani met his untimely death is because he chose to be the voice of the voiceless and to fight police brutality and extrajudicial killing.
The Taxi driver died because he chose to facilitate the movement toward the search for Justice.
While Mwendwa died because he chose to be the case study in the fight against police animosity.
