Trial for the Murder of one Sharon Otieno commenced with the prosecution parading three witnesses.

Initially, senior counsel Catherine Mwaniki for the prosecution had submitted to Court that prosecution had three witnesses in Court including a doctor.

However, the defense objected having the doctor testify today on the basis that they did not have enough time to go through his evidence since the prosecution had supplied same evidence this morning.

Nevertheless, the other two witnesses including the manager and an accountant of Glacier Hotel in Rongo where the lady Sharon is presumed to have had a drink before being abducted and later murdered, testified.

Before lady Justice Cecilia Githua, Andrew Omolo Okelo a witness and an accountant at Gracier Hotel told the Court that he had the privilege of serving lady Sharon and her friend wine at the said hotel on 3rd September 2018.

He proceeded to say that as Sharon and her friend took their drink from the back side of a bar within the hotel, another man materialized and proceeded direct to where they were sitting.

Later on the man walked by the Counter where Omolo was and paid for the drink then exited the hotel.

It is not clear who the man was and which part he took in the abduction of the late Sharon.

Nicholas Oyoo Aduwo, a manager at Gracier Hotel testified that he reported to work on 5thSeptember 2018 at 8:00am then at around 5:00pm, Andrew Omolo went to his office and told him that he had some visitors.

” After they entered, one of the visitors told me that they are DCI officers from Nairobi and there were there to investigate a matter that had happened on 3rd September 2018. They told me to cooperate because our hotel had become center of interest to their investigation” Said Nicholas Oyoo.

The DCI officers asked to be directed to the CCTV to get some photos which might help them in their investigation.

“I told them it was impossible to get first data from the CCTV because it had not been recording for the last three months” said Oyoo.

The case will proceed on 9th March 2022.
