Witnesses Stall Wanjiru Murder Inquest

A Nairobi Court has given the prosecution last chance to call evidence in the inquest to establish the cause of death of two times world Marathon champion, Samuel Wanjiru.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni said the long-stretching matter must come to a conclusion.

The court made its order when one of the defense Lawyers was a no show. 

However, the prosecution said it intents to call five witnesses who are allegedly 

hesitant.

Samuel Kamau Wanjiru was a Kenyan long-distance runner. 

He won the 2008 Beijing Olympics marathon in an Olympic record time 2:06:32. 

In 2005 he set the half marathon world record 3 times. 

In 2009, he won both London and Chicago marathon, running the fastest marathons ever recorded in the United Kingdom and United States.

On 15th May 2011, Samuel died after falling from balcony at his home in Nyahururu following a domestic brawls.
