A woman brutally tortured her son to death and then reported him to the authorities as having fallen from a sofa set to cover her tracks.
Mercy Mlengeka Mwauli went to the Kitengela police station in Kajiado County at 7.30 p.m. yesterday to report her kid had fallen from a couch and had head injuries. They were residents of Ngewa Apartment.
Sunny Dickens Anjichi, the kid, was brought to the neighboring Shalom Hospital, but regrettably died while doctors and nurses tried desperately to rescue him.
It wasn’t until an autopsy was conducted at the hospital’s mortuary this morning at the request of the boy’s father, that police uncovered the mother’s lies.
They discovered that the boy had actually died of severe injuries inflicted on his body.
The child suffered extensive bruising on his lower limbs, according to pathologists.
Severe bleeding was also present on the upper limbs, arms, thighs, and head.
The post-mortem was witnessed by a heartbroken Dick Anjichi Ndubukhile, the boy’s father.
With the evidence in hand, investigators went to Ngewa Apartment and interrogated the mother and the caretaker.
The mother had viciously attacked the youngster over an unexplained matter, it was discovered.
The woman was quickly apprehended and taken into custody, pending her court appearance. When the inquiry is over, she’ll be charged with murder.
