A woman has been arraigned in court for fraudulently obtaining money pretending to have won a tender to supply GPS in the office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
Mwanaisha Mwinyi Abdalla was arraigned before Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi being accused of fraudulently obtaining Ksh 1 million from Karen Karanja by falsely pretending she had won a tender with the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the prosecution, Mwanaisha on September 17, 2021, approached Karen with good news of having won a GPS supply tender valued at Ksh 4 million in the office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
She then requested Ksh 1 million from Karen to facilitate the smooth running of her business with promises of paying back the money.
Appearing before Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi, the accused denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh 1 million with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 500,000.
