Woman Who ‘Shot’ Husband Dead To Undergo Mental Assessment

Eldoret High Court has directed the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to facilitate mental assessment of a police officer accused of brutally killing her husband by shooting him 12 times.

According to the court directives, the assessment that will will be used to determine whether Lilian Biwott is fit to stand trial for the murder of her husband

This is after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) told the court that they have completed investigations and are ready to open murder charge against the officer.

Justice Rosemary Onkoba ordered the officer to be investigated and also appointed a government lawyer who will represent her in the case since she did not have a lawyer of her own.

Police officer Biwot, a mother of three children is alleged to have killed her husband after a domestic dispute two weeks ago in their rented house in Kimumu Street, on the outskirts of Eldoret city.
