Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has demanded that social media accounts belonging to Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s be blocked.
‘This was after Sonko published an expose which contained explicit video of an informant.
She spoke during the lighting of the Kenyatta International Conference Center on Tuesday night to commemorate the start of 16 days of the campaign against gender-based violence.
Sonko’s latest acts, according to Passaris, justified the country’s decision to prohibit him from using any social media platforms.
“That kind of violence and violation of a woman is wrong by every standard and the I cal on the DCI to take action against him because as a country, you can block someone who has terrorises and abuse women on social media platforms,” she said.
When asked on Tuesday about his habit of recording people and posting them on social media, Sonko replied that he only did so with cartels and is not breaking any laws.
In his latest expose, Sonko outlined how Judges in the high court practise impunity through blackmail and sexual favours with leaders.
