Works to rehabilitate the Mama Ngina Waterfront Project have finally been complete.

The 433 Million project, converted an open space where tourists could buy local artefacts from the local curios, as well as catch the breeze while watching the large ships accessing the Likoni channel.

It provides a modern recreational site for local & international visitors thereby promoting tourism. It will also enhance Mombasa oceanic waterfront view & serve as a conservatory for the coastal culture.

According to the government, Mama Ngina Waterfront Park was curated for the youth talent development in Mombasa County. This open theatre can accommodate over 500 youth. It has purposely been established to provide artists with a platform to showcase their talents.

Among other facilities, the Waterfront hosts conference rooms, a cultural hall and business spaces for enterpreneurs.

The project was officially opened to the public on 20th October 2019, by President Uhuru Kenyatta. He urged county governments to invest in the youth, and avail facilities for the advancement of youth development in the country.
