Court Vacates Orders Stopping Arrest, Prosecution Of Ex-Governor Mwangi Wa Iria, His Wife

High Court vacates conservatory orders that had stopped the arrest and prosecution of former Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria, his wife and 6 other graft suspects.

Wa Iria and co-accused were subsequently ordered to immediately proceed to EACC Police Station at Integrity Centre for fingerprint taking.

Judge Nixon Sifuna has ordered arrest in the event of non-compliance.

Justice Sifuna directed that the former county chief, Jane Waigwe Kani and Solomon Kimani cooperate with EACC and DPP and present themselves for statement recording.

Murang’a High Court had issued temporary orders stopping their charging in court.

However, Muranga Presiding Judge James Wakiaga transferred the matter to the Nairobi High court Anti-corruption Division for further directions.
