Del Monte Kenya Limited (DMKL) has been named Best Exporter in East Africa in 2020.
The pineapple exporting entity was crowned in the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) sponsored East Africa Maritime Awards (EAMA) held in Mombasa county.
Following a comprehensive East African study of Mombasa port customers, DMKL was picked, with 77 participants from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo taking part.
The food processor transports 4,100 containers of pineapple goods and other fruit beverages via the Mombasa port on an annual basis, bringing in about Kshs 10 billion in foreign money.
Bollore Transports & Logistics, which won Best Cargo Transporter and Best Regional Cargo Logistics Provider at the EAMA awards, was among the other winners.
Best Clearing and Forwarding Agent in Kenya went to ESL Forwarders, while Best Clearing and Forwarding Agent in Tanzania went to Tahafresh Handling Limited.
The Siginon Group of Kenya was named Best Warehousing Company. Gulf Badr Group (K) Limited was named Best Shipping Line, while CMA CGM Kenya Limited was named Best Shipping Agent (Liner Agency), and ELS Forwarders was named Best Shipping Agent (Tramp Agency). ECU Worldwide Kenya Limited was named Best Cargo Consolidator.
