11 Petrol Stations Blacklisted For Selling Diluted Fuel

In an effort to combat the threat, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Body (EPRA) disclosed the names of petrol stations that had been found selling contaminated fuel on Wednesday, June 30.

The agency announced in a public notice that it discovered eleven stations selling diluted fuel or petroleum destined for export for a three-month period from April to June 2021.

“A total of 5,598 tests were done at 1,237 petroleum locations from April to June 2021.”

According to EPRA, the majority of gas stations were found to be selling Diesel or Petrol with a high sulphur content, which has a negative influence on emission control systems’ efficacy.

EPRA shut down the pumps and penalized some stations up to Ksh760,000 in taxes and penalties in order to restart them.

Here is the list of the petrol stations list by EPRA:

1. Be Energy Racecourse Service Station – Nairobi
