Kenya has recorded 2 more positive cases of Coronavirus, one being of a 2 year old child.
Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi said 491 people were tested in the last 24 hours out of which the 2 cases emerged. The 2 cases are from Nairobi and Mombasa. The other case is aged 32.
“Both were picked by our surveillance teams.One is Kenyan and the other is a foreigner,”she said.
2 patients have also recovered from the disease after testing negative twice and discharged from the hospital.
A total of 2,054 contacts have been monitored so far out which 1,546 have been discharged. 508 contacts are being followed at the moment.
Director General Ministry of health, Patrick Amoth has also confirmed that mass testing will continue in the next three weeks adding that they will be able to get 3,000 test results in in 2 hours after testing.
“We are the only country in East Africa that carried out the highest number tests and that is why we have more cases than any other country,” he said.
He said the country is likely to have more numbers after mass testing and therefore Kenyans should continue observing high standards of hygiene and maintain social distance.
