KDF Colonel, Magistrate arrested partying

A Kenya Defense Forces colonel and a magistrate are among 30 people arrested by police in a bar yesterday in Embakasi area.

Police acted on a tip-off and the two with 28 others were found partying in the bar hence flouting the government directives issued to combat the corona virus pandemic.

The government shut down bars and restaurants were allowed to operate between 5a.m and 7p.m to offer take away services.

The 30 individuals also flouted the Presidents directives ordering all Kenyans to stay in their houses after 7.00pm

They will spend the Easter Weekend behind bars until Tuesday, April 14 when they will be arraigned in court.

Law Society of Kenya Chairperson nelson Havi yesterday went on twitter to state that Nairobi Police boss Philip Ndolo confirmed the incident.

“We will go bail them out on Thursday, April 16,”he said.

The Government on March 27,gave a directive on curfew sating that no Kenyan should be outside after 7.00pm for a period of 30 days.
