2022 polls: Raila fronts Oparanya to woo Western Kenya votes

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has been handpicked by ODM leader Raila Odinga to woo luhya nation votes.

While chairing a meet up between ODM leaders in the area, Raila sought to resolve the revenue stalemate that has seen over 11 debates.

The lack of money to counties led to the move by Council of Governors chair Oparanya to declare a shut down of government activities until the stalemate is resolved.

The meeting was said to have discussed the state of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala who has been at the forefront in rejecting the proposal.

However, fronting Oparanya could see retaliatory statements, over the influence of ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, and Raila’s wingman Moses Wetangula.

The duo have been engaged in opposition politics that have tarnished Raila and Uhuru over the Building Bridges Initiative.

However, Dr. Boni Khalwale who has for long fronted Ruto for presidency, threw shade at the meeting.

“Whereas thousands of hustlers received the Hustlers’ Clerk after a church service in Machakos, the self proclaimed peoples’ president was in Butere for kneel before me rituals!” Tweeted Boni.
