Police in Mwea East are holding a 42-year-old man for allegedly defiling her two and half-year-old daughter.
Confirming the incident, the area chief, Henry Karuki, said the man was caught in the act by his son right after his mother had left for the farm.
Upon learning of the unfortunate incident, enraged residents who were baying for his blood attacked the man and frog-matched him to a nearby health center where they locked him up before calling the police.
Kariuki said the minor was rushed to the hospital where she is being attended to.
“The suspect was arrested and whisked to the police station as his daughter who was bleeding was rushed to hospital where she is being treated,” he said.
The area residents have urged parents to watch over their children, both boys and girls, saying that pedophiles can live within families as well.
Angry residents condemned the incident as they demanded that justice be served on the victim.
The suspect is being held under custody and is set to be arraigned in court later.
