661 Test Positive For COVID As 32 More Die

661 people tested positive for the coronavirus today, out of a total sample size of 8,141 taken in the last 24 hours.

Kenya now has an 8.1% positivity rate, with 242,945 total confirmed cases and 2,444,357 cumulative tests taken since the disease’s beginning in March last year.

The country has also lost thirty-two people to the sickness, with the Health Ministry stating that “all were late fatalities reported after performing facility record audits in the months of August and September.”

This brings the total number of Covid-19 fatalities to 4,896.

Another 533 individuals have recovered from the sickness, “with 416 coming from the Home Based Isolation and Care program and 117 from various health facilities around the country,” Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement.

The total number of recoveries is now 230,940.

Furthermore, 1,723 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities across the country, while 4,725 are enrolled in the Home-based Isolation and Care program.
