In a move that has been welcomed by customers, Safaricom has rescheduled its system maintenance that was set to take place on Sunday from 11 pm to 4 am on Monday.

The maintenance was initially announced to ensure “worry-free superior customer experiences”, but the service provider took into consideration the feedback received and decided to reschedule it to a later date.

“We hear you, and we value your feedback,” said Safaricom in a statement. “The scheduled system maintenance later this evening has been rescheduled to a later date to allow you to enjoy a worry-free M-PESA on this sport-packed evening.”

The rescheduled maintenance is expected to take place at a later date, with no specific time frame given. During the initial maintenance period, customers were expected to experience intermittent disruptions to lipa na M-PESA, paybill, and buy goods services, as well as international money transfers (Western Union), M-PESA Global, and M-PESA App and my Safaricom App.

However, customers can rest assured that all other services including calls, data, SMS, and all other M-PESA services will be available as usual. This means that customers can continue to use their phones and access their accounts without any interruptions.

The news comes as fans of football are gearing up for the Euro Finals between Spain and England, which is set to take place at 10 pm on Sunday. The rescheduling of the maintenance is expected to ensure that customers can enjoy the match without any disruptions to their services.
