DCI officer injured after a Failed Armed robbery attempt at Migori hotel

Police officers attached to Migori have shot and injured a group of armed robbers planning an attack on Allaxis hotel located along Migori-Rongo road.

The detectives, who got wind of the planned attack, laid an ambush where six suspected robbers onboard motorcycles arrived ready for the planned mission.

The six were challenged to surrender but instead fired at the detectives.

During the shoot out, two suspects were fatally injured but the rest escaped with gunshot wounds. A DCI detective was also shot on the right shoulder and is currently receiving treatment and in stable condition.

One AK 47 Rifle loaded with 16 rounds of ammunition, a torch, a rungu among other items were recovered. Pursuit for the escaped suspects is ongoing.
