Police have arrested several suspected drug traffickers and recovered quantities of cannabis in a series of intelligence-led operations conducted across the country.

In Nakuru, officers arrested 32-year-old Felix Mittunda Genchabe after a search revealed cannabis concealed in his backpack. Authorities said the suspect was intercepted during a routine patrol, disrupting what is believed to be a distribution attempt.

In a separate incident in Bumula, Bungoma County, officers acting on a tip-off intercepted a motorcycle carrying two suspects, Josphat Ochieng and Yusuf Keya. The duo was found in possession of four bales of bhang.

Meanwhile, in Kaptalamwa, Elgeyo Marakwet County, police arrested Isaac Kibet Odipo, 30, who was found with 172 rolls of bhang.

All suspects are currently in custody awaiting arraignment, while the recovered narcotics have been secured as exhibits.

The National Police Service said the operations form part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and distribution networks across the country.
