Police in Mombasa county have arrested two suspected criminals and recovered stolen household items and electronics following a targeted operation in Kisauni subcounty.

The National Police Service said officers from Mjambere police station carried out the operation in Barsheba, Kagujo and surrounding areas, leading to the arrest of the two suspects believed to be part of a criminal network behind a string of robberies and burglaries in Kisauni and Kadzandani.
Authorities recovered a cache of items suspected to have been stolen from residents.
Some of the goods were positively identified by a 21-year-old student from Technical University of Mombasa, who had earlier reported a theft.
The suspects were taken into custody at Mjambere police station and are expected to be arraigned in court on Monday to face charges related to the offences.
In a statement, police commended members of the public for their role in the operation.
“National Police Service thanks members of the public whose timely information led to these arrests,” the service said. The police said the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and enhance safety in the area.“We remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents within Kisauni subcounty and the whole country at large,” the statement said.
Residents have been urged to continue cooperating with security agencies by sharing information that could help prevent crime.
The operation comes amid a series of recent police crackdowns targeting criminal activities along the Coast, particularly in Mombasa and its surrounding areas.
