Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Embakasi have arrested a suspect and recovered a stolen firearm following a coordinated operation driven by intelligence leads and forensic analysis.

The operation, conducted under the command of the Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer (SCCIO) Embakasi, was launched after the reported theft of a firearm belonging to a licensed gun holder.

Police identified the prime suspect as 42 year old John Bosco Munyao, who was arrested within Nairobi’s Central Business District during the operation.

Following his arrest, detectives escorted the suspect to his residence in Kangemi, where a search led to the recovery of the stolen Glock pistol. According to investigators, the firearm had been hidden inside a suitcase among clothes.

Officers also recovered 17 rounds of ammunition and two magazines during the search.

The recovered firearm and ammunition have since been secured as exhibits as investigations continue. The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be arraigned in court.
