1,354 New COVID Cases Recorded

Kenya recorded 1,354 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 298,509.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe acknowledged that this was based on a sample size of 5,331 people with a positive rate of 25.4%. The total number of tests is 3,042,313.

According to Kagwe, there are currently 1,029 patients in various health facilities around the country, with 23,667 under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has 53 patients, 21 of who are on ventilatory support and 26 of whom are on supplemental oxygen. Six patients are being monitored.

The death toll in the country has grown to 5,384 after three more individuals succumbed to the sickness over the same period.
