The Ministry of Health has published a statement correcting allegations that the mask mandate and other limitations have been abolished.
According to a statement from the Health Ministry, the government has made no changes to the Covid-19 limits.
“It has come to our attention that there is a document circulating in the media purporting to come up with revised restriction measures on Covid-19. The document is not from the Ministry of Health and is therefore not authentic.” the tweet read
The Ministry of Health informed Kenyans that if there are any updates or changes to the procedures, an official statement would be issued by the Ministry of Health or the Office of the President.
According to a rumor circulating on social media, the government had made a slew of revisions to the Covid-19 limitations.
The circular stated that wearing masks in public would be optional beginning March 1, 2022.
Those visiting busy areas, such as government buildings or taking public transportation, were required to wear masks.
More and more instances of forgery and false statements take a toll on government communication.
A special taskforce was formed to identify fakes and apprehend those behind the vice.
