Machakos gubernatorial candidate Nzioka Waita has denied reports that he has dropped out of the gubernatorial race in favour of Wiper’s Wavinya Ndeti.
Taking to social media, the former State House Chief of Staff dismissed a letter circulating on the internet indicating that he “was stepping down.”
According to the Chama cha Uzalendo (CCU) party leader, “the levels of desperation in WIPER are now embarrassing”.
“The levels of desperation in WIPER are now embarrassing.. I thought they said this “boy who speaks poor Kikamba is a non starter?” A word of advice to the Mutharaka… don’t start what you can’t finish,” Waita tweeted.
“#WaitaNaSuluhu marching onwards to the ballot!”

Mr. Nzioka on Sunday warned the Wiper leader against imposing a candidate and asked him to allow the people of Machakos to make their own decision on the ballot.
“I keep saying the people of Machakos will decide for themselves who they want as their Governor. Attempts to force an endorsement for my competitor fell flat on its face,” Waita stated.
“You don’t vote in Machakos, focus on campaigning for Raila,” Waita told Kalonzo.
Kalonzo on Sunday during the Azimio rally In Machakos said he would persuade Waita to step down in favour of Ndeti but his remarks were met with harsh criticism from the supporters.
With his rapidly rising political career, the former State House Chief of Staff, who was awarded Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (MGH) by President Uhuru Kenyatta, has created tension among other aspirants.
