The faithful of Shrine Mary Help of Christians, Upper Hill Parish, joined the Universal Church today in celebrating the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), one of the most profound feasts in the Catholic liturgical calendar.

The celebration was marked by a solemn Holy Mass and a Eucharistic procession, drawing parishioners into a deeper appreciation of the gift of the Holy Eucharist.
The Eucharistic celebration was led by Fr. Cyril Otie who works in Ireland and Co-Celebrated by host of other five Priests.

In his homily, he reflected on the central message of the feast: the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. He reminded the congregation that the Eucharist is not merely a symbol or a religious ritual but the living presence of Christ who continues to nourish, guide, and strengthen His people.
Fr. Cyril Otie emphasized that the Holy Mass is the heartbeat of Christian life and the source from which believers draw spiritual strength for their daily journey. He challenged the faithful to approach the Eucharist with renewed faith, reverence, and gratitude, recognizing it as the greatest gift Christ left to His Church.
Reflecting on the significance of the Eucharistic procession, Fr. Cyril Otie noted that carrying the Blessed Sacrament through the streets is a public witness of faith and a proclamation that Christ walks with His people in every circumstance of life. He encouraged parishioners to deepen their spiritual intelligence by looking beyond outward appearances and discerning the presence of God in their everyday experiences.
“The Eucharist calls us to transformation,” he explained. “When we receive Christ, we are invited to become more like Him—people of love, compassion, service, and hope. The celebration of Corpus Christi should inspire us not only to adore Christ in the Blessed Sacrament but also to encounter Him in our brothers and sisters, especially those in need.”
Following the Mass, the faithful participated in a reverent Eucharistic procession, accompanied by hymns, prayers, and moments of silent adoration. The procession served as a visible sign of the Church’s faith in Christ’s real presence and a reminder that the Lord remains among His people.

The Solemnity of Corpus Christi continues to be a powerful testimony to the Church’s belief that Jesus is truly present—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—in the Eucharist. As the parish community gathered around the altar and followed the Blessed Sacrament in procession, they renewed their commitment to live as faithful disciples, carrying Christ’s love and light into the world.

May this sacred celebration inspire all Christians to grow in Eucharistic devotion, deepen their relationship with Christ, and become living witnesses of His presence in their families, workplaces, and communities.

“Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.” (John 6:56)
Through the intercession of Mary, Help of Christians, may the parish community continue to be strengthened by the Eucharist and transformed by the love of Christ.
