Member Of Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Taskforce Dies

A Nairobi lawyer who was recently appointed a member of Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance economic task force is dead.

Edward Mwachinga is said to have collapsed on Tuesday in his Nairobi house and passed on.

A family member said that Mwachinga was diagnosed with a heart problem a year ago and had been receiving treatment in and out of the country.

“We lost him last night at about 11 pm. He had been diagnosed with a heart problem about one year ago,” said Emmanuel Washe, an uncle of Mwachinga.

According to Washe, the body was moved to Montezuma Funeral Home.

Pamoja African Alliance Party (PAA) leader, Amason Jeffa Kingi, also led the party members in mourning Mwachinga who was the Chairperson of the National Election Board of the Pamoja African Alliance Party.

“It is with a heavy heart that I received news last night of the passing on of my brother and Chairperson of the National Election Board of the Pamoja African Alliance Party, Mr Edward Mwachinga.

“Mr Edward Mwachinga had recently been appointed to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance National Economic Task Force where we envisaged immeasurable input from him,” mourned Kingi.

Mwachinga was appointed to the position in mid-May, months after the PAA party defected from Azimio La Umoja to Kenya Kwanza.
The economic task committee was then given 45 days to draft manifestos that would comprise Kenya Kwanza’s blueprint if they won the presidency.

Prior to his political career, Mwachinga previously worked as a tax advisor for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Delloite (where he was one of the managers in their Tanzanian branch).

He has also worked as a lawyer in Kenya.
