Police Grill Wavinya Ndeti Over UK Degree

Ndeti is being investigated for forgery after her academic credentials were called into question by two voters.

Wavinya Ndeti, a Machakos Wiper gubernatorial candidate, has been questioned by police in connection with her foreign degree.

Following summonses, she appeared before the Serious Crimes Unit detectives at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Wednesday.

According to the detectives, she provided documents to back up her claims of attending university.

Ndeti claims to have graduated from South Bank University in London with a degree in computer studies.

She is the latest leader to face charges in connection with the saga.

Police said they had also summoned Meru County UDA candidate Mithika Linturi for questioning regarding allegations of forgery in their degree.

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja was grilled for hours Monday over forgery allegations against him in the saga surrounding his foreign degree.

Despite the controversy, he was cleared by the electoral body last Sunday to run for Nairobi governor.

According to police, the investigation’s files will be sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions with various recommendations.
