Arab Ambassadors In Kenya Unite To Advocate For Palestinian Rights

The Arab Ambassadors underscored the imperative of pursuing a just and comprehensive lasting peace, firmly endorsing the two-state solution as the most strategically sound pathway to ensure regional stability and the well-being of its nations and inhabitants. 

Arab Ambassadors accredited in Kenya have advocated for a collective voice advocating for the rights and well-being of the Palestinian people.

The envoys met at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Nairobi to issue a joint statement reiterating their commitment to the Palestinian cause and urging immediate international action to address the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The meeting emphasized the importance of protecting the Palestinian people’s rights, emphasizing their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign state based on the pre-June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its recognized capital.

The Arab Ambassadors underscored the imperative of pursuing a just and comprehensive lasting peace, firmly endorsing the two-state solution as the most strategically sound pathway to ensure regional stability and the well-being of its nations and inhabitants. 

The diplomats expressed deep concern regarding the escalating violence and the catastrophic consequences that could result from its continuation.

The issuance of the declaration stems from Resolution No. 8987, issued by the Council of the League of Arab States during an extraordinary ministerial-level meeting convened to address the Israeli aggression and to chart a course towards peace and security in the region.

The declaration reaffirms key principles including immediate cessation of conflict he Arab Ambassadors urge for an immediate halt to Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip and its environs. They call upon all parties involved to exercise restraint and underscore the perilous humanitarian and security ramifications of an extended conflict.

The Ambassadors also condemned the violations the Palestinian people continue to endure under Israeli occupation, vehemently denouncing the recent acts of aggression and rights infringements.

They also called for the lifting of the Gaza Siege to allow unfettered access to humanitarian aid, food, and fuel.

“We stress the crucial role of international organizations, particularly UNRWA, in providing indispensable support during this critical juncture,” said the ambassadors.

They also advocate for a Just Peace by insisting on the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, coexisting with Israel in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The Ambassadors also want the Peace Process to be restarted, with substantive talks between the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and Israel. They warn of the potential consequences of a lack of genuine political prospects for peace.
