Arshad Sharif Was Assassinated, Pakistan Intelligence Reveals

According to new evidence, the death of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya in October was most likely premeditated.

According to media reports, discoveries by Pakistani investigators dispatched to Kenya refute the National Police Service’s prior narrative that the journalist’s shooting was a case of mistaken identification.

Kenyan officials had previously reported that Sharif was shot at a checkpoint along the Nairobi-Magadi Road by officers from the General Service Unit (GSU).

According to the analysis, the bullet patterns did not indicate that the automobile was moving at the time of the incident. The bullet wounds also indicate that Sharif was shot from close range.

However, in a 600-page report by detectives deployed to Kenya, the narrative by Kenyan police has been termed as a ballistic impossibility, further placing Kenya in a tight diplomatic spot over the murder of the foreigner.

“Both the members of the (fact-finding team) have a considered understanding that it is a case of planned targeted assassination with transnational characters rather than a case of mistaken identity,” said the report, according to Reuters.
