The Court of Appeal of Kenya. The Apex election dispute Court of the land has a busy day, 20th August 2021.
Reason? It will define the traction of 2022, define alliance boundaries for OKA, UDA, and ODM. And whatever is left of the Rift Valley that is Jubilee.
The BBI is the gearless car that President Kenyatta wanted to confer a lift to State House for his nemesis turned brother: One Raila Amolo Odinga.
BBI was loaded with the political explosives to injure DP Ruto’s career after it occurred to the deep state that he was excess to requirements…at least for 2022.
Make no mistake. Whatever decision the appellate Court makes, it will have an impact on 2022.
Season of Alliances
Raila is in the process of manufacturing an alliance. He needs other tribal…or regional leaders to execute this.
DP Ruto is conjuring up his bottoms-up approach, and requires a political vehicle to do so…BBI will afford him one.
Ruto and Raila are not political enemies, but competitors.
And so they will suit whoever between Kalonzo Musyoka, Mudavadi, Waiguru, Mutua will be available.
As for Uhuru Kenyatta, all he wants is a legacy. Uniting the country by all means, which was the BBI.
He also owes the Moi family a favor and seeks to launder Gideon into the top echelons of Statecraft.
This BBI appeal is not anchored on law per se. It’s a political stone and bar that will decide who the next rulers of Kenya are.
