Benjamin Tayari Appointed KPA Board Chairman

Former Kinangop MP Benjamin Tayari has been appointed Chairman of the Kenya Ports Authority’s Board of Directors.

In a gazette notice dated January 12, Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen directed Tayari to take office on January 13.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 (a) of the Kenya Ports Authority Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport appoints  Benjamin Dalu Tayari to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Ports Authority, for a period of three years,” the notice read.

Tayari will serve as KPA’s chairman for three years.

Murkomen rescinded Joseph Kibwana’s appointment in a gazette notice.
