The Cabinet has approved the implementation of the film intensive package to boost film production in Kenya.
The move is aimed at improving the country’s position as the film destination of choice in Africa.
The incentives include “one-stop-shop” approach to license approvals, tax concessions and waivers of various levies for personnel and equipment.
The move, which is likely to slash production budgets and constraints, is expected to encourage both local and international filmmakers to use locations in Kenya for their productions.
