Sunday mass will not be the business as usual.
This is after the council of catholic bishops introduced a raft 9f measures to combat the recently declared Pandemic, the Coronavirus.
Fathers working at the alter will now be required to thoroughly disinfect themselves before handling the holy communion.
Among the reforms include discouraging members from shaking hands and proposed that the faithful should start waving at each other.
The iconic Holy Water located at the entrance of every catholic church will be removed until the threat is declared mild.
The bishops also adviced members suffering from a cold to steer clear from the church mass so as to reduce the risk of spreading.
Bishops also cautioned members against discrimination of affected persons, calling on Christians to excercise love on fellow human beings.
“As we recognize the imminent danger of this pandemic, we, however, request that we avaid any tendencien or attitudes of discrimination and stigmatization of affected persons” the statement read in part.
The bishops further called for prayer and fasting for the sake of those suffering, as well as countries at risk of the deadly pandemic.
