ChatGPT is back online, after a crash left users around the world unable to use the AI chatbot.

According to Down Detector, the problems started at around 08:45 GMT and affected users globally.

While the reason for the outage remains unclear, of those who reported issues, 82 per cent said they were having problems with ChatGPT, 11 per cent with login and seven per cent with the website.

The OpenAI status page noted an incident today that read ‘Outage on chat.openai.com’.

At 02:18 PDT (09:18 GMT), an update was added saying that the firm was investigating the issue.

Nearly a full hour later, the incident was resolved.

Some users expressed their disappointment that those who are paying the $20 (£16.40) monthly subscription for ChatGPT Plus are not getting their money’s worth as a result of the outage.
