Cleophas Malala: We Are The Deep State

Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala revealed on Sunday, November 13, that he is a member of President William Ruto’s deep state.

During a thanksgiving service in Baringo county, Malala, who was floored by ODM’s Fernandes Barasa, stated that all poll losers who rallied behind Ruto were not far from power.

He hinted that as leaders and members of the Western Kenya community, they were fully in government after casting over one million votes in the previous election.

“Kipchumba Murkomen, Aaron Cheruiyot and elected leaders from this region are the State, but for us who lost the election are the deep state, so those who have raised their concerns about hunger and security, we as the deep state will have a sit down with the president and solve that issue,” he affirmed.

Malala, who ran for the Kakamega gubernatorial seat on an ANC ticket, seemed to allay any fears that Ruto had sidelined him.

His former running mate in the Kakamega gubernatorial elections, on the other hand, was among the fortunate few who made it to Ruto’s final list of 51 principal secretaries.

Dr Beatrice Inyangala, who fought alongside Malala but lost the election, was chosen for the PS portfolio in the State Department of Higher Education and Research.
